TF Pokemon contest

Okay much like everything we talk about spawns from the shout. So how many of you would want to have a pokemon contest of sorts?

First I/we would need to see who wants to do it. You'd have to have Diamond and/or Pearl the higher you stats the better.

So post if you want in.

I'm sure we all need to train our teams. this was to see how many would wanna do it.

No date has been set yet since most of us need time to work on our team(s) or have wifi problems.

Oh and IF we can get more then enough people, then may I suggest we have (if Staff are joining in as well) 4 people to act as 'Gym Leaders/Elite 4'? As in beat all 4 to earn 4 'badges' to compete against each other in the finals?

Oh, about the idea of 4 Staff members acting as an Elite 4 meet Gym Leaders. Jaysen suggested to me about instead of 4 Staff members, it will be 4 members (Staff and regular) who are the best of the best to be the Elite 4 Gym Leaders

Personally I like that idea of Jayse better

well first off, we have yet to set up rules, and it won't be 4 Staff Members but 4 people on this board who are the best of the best to become the 'Elite 4' for the TF Pokémon contest/league. We have yet to discuss about sticking to tradition on using a 1 type team per Elitist or not

yeah I got a question what are some of the rules for this contest?

I was think that since were going to do like a elite four kinda thing we should set up some rules for the elite four.

1-no legendary pokemon
2-no pokemon over level 80
3-no items that you give your pokemon to hold (healing items still allowed)

those are the only three I thought of. I thought this woul make the matches more of a challenge because with alot of ledgend pokemon if you get them strong enough you can kill someone with one hit......and thats no fun.

so what do you guys think?

I like them but the no items deal. Also would be a good rule be no copies?

Most people that have been play are well over 80. For the ones not there or above have time to get 80-100. I know I can live without using legends.. As for items well IDK. That's just my two cents

Hold items should be fine, they enhance the strategy of the game, but rarely turn a pokemon into a powerful unit unless the pokemon was already a powerful unit. That one could be amended to not using certain hold items for the elite.


The level thing could be enforceable, but a lot of people don't use the free level battle feature of Wifi, going for either level 50 or 100. Movesets would be what really matter.

No serious trainer would use legendaries anyway.

Yeah hold items should be allowed as they do add a level of depth to battle. You can auto set your pokemon to lv 100 so that doesnt really matter. And will there be a application for being a Elite or just after the tournament the best players are crowned that?

-dusts thread- Not sure which one to bump but is anyone still interested in a Pokemon tournament or league of some sorts?

I have something in mind that might be flexible enough to work, but only if you guys are truly interested. Like, there's a registration process, but things aren't set in stone until the day of the tournament, where the format is then determined by the number of people. Probably needs tinkering, but the idea is to adjust to who can and cannot make it to the actual tournament date. So that there is at least something to for those who do show up and not have to wait longer than necessary. What do you think?
