Alright, with God of War: Chains of Olympus released for like a Month now, I figured that it is about time that this game series gets its own thread for discussion and whatnot

Well, I must say that so far I am definately enjoying Chains of Olympus. The game play is a bit different cause of the PSP, but it definately has the same breath of air that the other God of War games have.

The story of Chains of Olympus is actually a prequel to the first God of War (which a lot already know) and it is a pretty damn good game so far. I am up in Helios (God of the Sun) temple and this is basically were the story/plot for God of War: Chains of Olympus starts...

Well that covers it a bit, so let us discus about both this new God of War game as well as the other released God of War games (along with using this thread for news on God of War 3)

So yeah... By Athena, let us talk about Kratos, the one TRUE!!! God of War!

I never said I wanted them to change the game play.....so I have no idea where you got that idea and of course I knew that was not game play that they showed us last year.

I was just saying that the game play that they showed at E3 wasn't the best of the best from GoW3. They where just teasing us. I have high hopes for GoW3 and I'm sure they will blow all my hopes away.

There's some shiney news for PS3 users!! God of War: Collections was announced (http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/08/god-of-war-collection-blu-ray-disc-compilation-available-this-holiday-season/) however..... UK PS3 users are a bit out in the cold as it's not coming out (http://www.vg247.com/2009/09/02/no-god-of-war-remakes-for-europe-in-2009/) this year. So I wouldn't rule out them making some mega edition when GoW3 comes out.

Okay now getting a chance to play the E3 demo thanks to getting the collection I must say the game is damn pretty! The controls are unchanged (yay) magic recharges now (yay) and still pulling off 136 hit combos (i'm sure one could do more but that's what I hit) is still pleasing!

QTE have been tweeked now the button needed flashes on screen in it's respective control position. IE triangle is at the top, square is left ect.

Of course this next part i'm going to mention could be a spoiler so yeah..

At the end of the demo Kratos ends up getting attacked by a titan. So once again Kratos get's betrayed. (again)

Also there is now flying areas so frustration town USA here I come!

Well doesn't Kratos say it's an end to everything now? I mean the whole ooo he got betrayed again is kinda disappointing but yeah...

Well I do agree, but on the other hand... he DOES need a reason to fight against both the Gods AND the Titans... Not to mention this time the betrayal leaves Kratos completely alone...

I mean in God of War 1 (and Chains of Olympus) he gets betrayed by Ares, so the other Gods are supporting him... In God of War 2, Zeus betrayes him (the events that leads to this are told in that Mobile Phone game version of God of War, which plays between God of War 1 and 2) so the Titans support him (sort off... Well at least Gaia and Atlas to an extend did)...

Now in God of War 3, he is pissed off like he's never been pissed off before in his entire life since he is on his own, so what does a truly vengeful God do..? Whipe EVERYTHING off of the face of the Earth, so adios Olympus and bye bye Giants

Don't forget Kratos is no longer a God. He's just a overly powerful mortal.

The Knuckles are alright but as with most heavy weapons it's slow but strong.

The whole have Kratos fight everyone is kinda like a kick in the balls. Ever game he get's betrayed and who's going to help him? Even the former God of War can't kill everyone alone. Titan's and Gods and everything in between so someone up theres going to back him up at least I hope so.

Well from judging that demo gameplay I saw on YT some time ago... Things are leading that he is completely on his own (I mean even his beloved Sparta has been slain... Or not... Hmmm... Am kind of confused on that part), unless Gaia still supports him, despite killing not only the Gods, but also the Titans...

And technically, Kratos is a Demi God... A Demi God who controls Time itself as we saw at the end of God of War 2

As for this whole betrayal, I do remember reading somewhere that the makers of God of War said that God of War 3 tells the story on why the Greek Gods (and Titans, or simply said why the Greek Mythology is just that what it is today) are no more... Either way, let us all hope for one bloody and kickass game with hopefully an awesome ending to it

Okay having played the demo again Magic is still there it wasn't enabled. Helios' head and the arrows ran off the yellow bar. Oh well so much for regen magic!

So after playing the demo I really enjoyed it though I miss my big red orbs instead of high def orbs but yeah. Helios' head was kind of disappointing since I'm sick of heads being used by this point xD. Still I can't wait for next month! :D

I won't be ready for a while personally. While the God of War series is fun, I never found them to be that great of games, or something I have to play early on like I do with DMC or Final Fantasy.

The fact that I can pretty much guess the broad scope of what happens doesn't help things either.

I lost track of time I think I played over 8 hours now........also died a lot ;_;

my favorite part by far was the "scenes" with Aphrodite lol when you get to her you'll know lol

Okay I started it yesterday but ending up missing a lot of horns,feathers and eyes so I started over (I died more then I wanted to on the one so it's okay XD) no biggie none the less.

I stopped right after the flame room.

The Hades fight was the best damn God of War fight (so far) i've played! It goes without saying this game is damn fun!

Just like that it's over... Shorter the GoWII that's for sure. I still have some things to mop up but it was awesome.

BTW I have to change my mind about Hades' fight... Hercs was hands down the BEST fight in the game.

okay, bought the game a day earlier then the planned release date for the Netherlands (I love you Nedgame!) and I have been playing through the game a bit (like 2 or so hours, maybe 3)

AND FUCKING DAMN DO I LOVE THIS GAME!!! Hades (the place, not the God) sure has changed since the last time we where there... Then again... The bitch is dead in that realm so yeah... Hades old boy, I just LOVE what you've done to the place!

The Blades of ... looks sooooooo damn fucking awesome... A HELL lot better looking then the Blades of Chaos and the Blades of Athena...

And the new Rage of the...

I just fucking LOVE IT!!! It just fits with Kratos!

Also I just love how the magic works in this game... They are linked to the melee weapons you gain through the game... I fucking love it!

As for the story so far..?

Damn... Just fucking damn... That is an even worser betrayal to Kratos then back in God of War 1 and God of War 2... I mean damn, that is low... That is REALLY low! (for those who have yet to buy the game or start playing it... I am deliberately trying my best to keep spoilers away)
