x = √((1/2)y - 38)
For lack of desire to come up with a good equation right now:
(3 + 5) / 2

15.2
√(((10+4)(3-5))^2)
Um the answer is actually 4. *lol*
As for your math problem... Pass! I have no clue!

Yes - if you just put that into a calculator like that it would equal 4. HOWEVER, that is not the answer. You have to multiple 7 and 2, then divide 6 by 5 before you can add. That is the Order of Operations. See Below:
Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally
P - Parentheticals
E - Exponents
M - Multiplication
D - Division
A - Addition
S - Subtraction
This is the order in which things must be done. Therefore:
7*2+6/5 = 14+1.2 = 15.2
:)
As for my last equation - It all starts with the parentheticals and things canceling out.
√(((10+4)(3-5))^2)
Take away the square root and the "^2" because they cancel each other out. Then you get:
(10+4)(3-5)
Use the FOIL method (First Outer Inner Last)
30-50+12-20 = -28 :)
New equation:
10/2+3*5

It's either 2/5 or 2 with the remainer (r) of 5.
Equation:
Simplify.
6-(-3 + a - 2b +c)=

The answer was 20 lol. Remember the Order of Operations.
10/2 = 5
3*5 = 15
5 + 15 = 20
:)
Yours cannot be simplified without something on both sides of the "=" and without saying simplify for "*" :)

Answer:
6-(-3 + a - 2b +c)=
6+3-a+2b-c)=
9-a+2b-c
It's basic Algebra!
"When a parenthesis is preceded by a minus sign, to remove the parentheses, change the sign of each term within the parentheses."
I probably should've stated that to begin with. Gomen ne! :escape:
New Equation:
"Parentheses (). Parentheses are used to group numbers or variables. Everything inside parentheses must be done before any other operations."
Simplify.
50(2+6)=

Ahh - gomen. I wasn't thinking about that rule.
