"Amid strike-induced doubt involving the final episodes of Scrubs, on February 28, 2008, The Hollywood Reporter reported that ABC was in talks with corporate sibling ABC Studios to bring Scrubs to ABC for an eighth season of 18-episodes, despite both Lawrence's and Braff's protests that the seventh season will definitely be the last. Just hours later, Variety reported that NBC was lashing out and threatening legal action against ABC Studios. However, McGinley has confirmed that he has been told to report back to work March 24, 2008 to begin production for another season. McGinley was also quoted as saying that the show's long-rumored move from NBC to ABC is a done deal. According to McGinley, Scrubs will air on ABC during the 2008-2009 TV season.

On March 19, 2008, Michael Ausiello of TV Guide reported that although nothing is "official," the Scrubs cast will be reporting back to work next Wednesday for work on an "unofficial" season as of yet. Due to legalities of the contract between ABC Studios and NBC, until NBC releases a press statement releasing rights to Scrubs, nothing is official between the Scrubs production crew and ABC Studios."

I have been kinda hoping that they would get an eighth season since they got cut off so quickly by the writer's strike. I just think we need more time to close out the show.

I would be happy if when they ended it the REALLY ended it and gave closer to the story....like end it and then tells us what the gang is up to 10 years later thing so we can see how there lives are going?

Scrubs Premiere Date and Schedule

Scrubs, finally, has been given its new time slot by ABC. The series was always slated to re-appear sometime in mid-season, but no one knew when. Now, we know. In an official announcement today, ABC has proclaimed that Scrubs season 8 will premiere on Tuesday, January 6, at 9pm. For two weeks, it will air back-to-back new episodes. After that, it will fall into its regular Tuesday at 9:30pm time slot. It has not been announced what will air in front of Scrubs, but the Mike Judge comedy The Goode Family seems the likely companion.

Scrubs season 8 will have sixteen episodes, and they have finished filming all of them.

As reported previously, Scrubs season 8 will contain a wedding in the Bahamas. It's the Janitor's wedding, and he invited 700 people at the last minute to try and get the presents. JD calls his bluff and brings a group to the Bahamas. The episode, which will be one hour, was actually filmed in the Bahamas.

Much of the season will focus on the main characters' relationships with the new interns, who will be played by Aziz Ansari, Eliza Coupe, Betsy Beutler and Lee Thompson Young. It's possible that Scrubs will have a ninth season in which the interns become the main characters.

Guest stars for Scrubs season 8 include these actors who have previously appeared on Scrubs: Elizabeth Banks, Scott Foley, Tom Cavanagh, Amy Smart, and Nicole Sullivan.

Courtney Cox will play the the Chief of Medicine for three episodes. No one will particularly like her.

Scott Foley and Elizabeth Banks' characters will actually be dating, which isn't going to make JD or Elliot all that pleased.

Turk and Carla will be planning to have another child.

And, yes – Elliot and JD will reconnect, and the finale will deal with the two of them.

I'm not sure if some of you know, but Season 8 begins Tuesday. I didn't learn this until I saw the commerical for it on ABC.

I also learned that this will be the last season, which means none of that new cast bullshit.

This seasons is off to an excellent start. Episode 2 was very sad. As opposed to last seasons interns, I'm loving the new ones. The two girls are especially cute.

I was skeptical about Courtney Cox, but so far I'm liking her character. I see a lot of Kelso in her. Still, it wasn't explained why Dr. Cox resigned from the Chief position.

I got to say that the first two new eps were really good. I like the new inturns......well not ED......and Jo.......okay I kinda hate them all but that's what they're there for right XD.

I can't believe that the new chief fired the Janitor!!!!! and his one key that works on everything XD.

the second episode was so sad I felt so bad for that guy, but it was funny the part about JD being stuffed after he dies and living with Turk XD

Not really. I'm not the least bit happy. Scrubs had such an excellent ending, that this just ruins it.

Ted's gone. Lucy's alright but they seem to be trying way to hard to make her J.D. I know she's the new J.D but come on they need to do some rewrites her character only gets worst with each episode.
