Just what it says on the tin folks, a Discussion thread for Toei's Magical Girl Anime FRANCHISE, Pretty Cure!

Heartcatch starts the seventh of Feburary, Japan Time. Nana Mizuki (Yes THAT Nana Mizuki) voices Cure Blossom. I'm hyped.

Anyone excited for Pretty Cure All Stars DX 2!? I saw the short... it did nothing for me but the full length feature of the first movie was amazing! I love it whenever the old heroes jump into action their theme song plays. It was so nostalgic to hear the theme for Max Heart again. I've been watching the show... kinda... since the franchise again and the other two shows that aired in that same timeslot before it. I like that for HeartCatch PreCure it is using Ojamajou Doremi-style designs and that they're using different dynamic approaches. The original and Splash Star was like they met and had no problem fighting with each other. Yes PreCure 5 was kind of like that but only Karen/Aqua had a problem at first. The 3 Fresh girls were all friends prior. HeartCatch is like the first where two strangers meet but Tsubomi has self-esteem and security issues while Erika is a bit pushy and over the top. Erika is starting to grow on me... but the fairies are kind of a turn off... as much as over the top Erika can be... the fairies are kind of borderline annoying and when they have to poop out those chip things is a bit awkward... yeah I had the problem with Pao-chan in Ojamajo Doremi Dokkan when she pooped out spell drops... but at least Pao-chan wasn't in your face doing it like the fairies are. I think HeartCatch is the first to have a seemingly entirely evil Precure and the first 'death' of a PreCure.

Do you think that all these series are in the same general time line or they are stuck in their general ages just for the convenience of bringing the groups together?

Pretty sure they all have different timelines that are pretty much stuck in place after a show is over for Convenience. Honoka and Nagisa look pretty much the same as they do in Futari wa Pretty Cure Episode one despite they should be pretty much in the late teens early 20's by now.

But this allows for an even better homage to Showa era Kamen Rider so I'm all for it. (Seriously, The fact these teams can team up like this and the whole calling out duo kicks and such really bring a smile to my face.)

And nothing is more Epic than Cure Black and Cure White KICKING A GOD DAMNED PLANE OUT OF THE SKY WHILE THE MAX HEART THEME SONG STARTS PLAYING.
