Okay now for my third album review for TF, the new album from Creed -- Full Circle (2009).

The disc opens with the first single from the album, "Overcome" and gets you ready for a sonic journey that only Creed could provide. It shows that they have grown as musicians. Followed by the very Korn sounding "Bread of Shame" that I think could be directed at their label, that really screwed everything up with this reunion/farewell tour/album, Wind-Up Records. The album continues to show the growth that the core of the band (Mark Tremonti, lead guitar; Brian Marshall, Bass Guitar; Scott Phillips, drums) had in Alter Bridge. I am glad Alter Bridge is not gone for good. They are working on their third Album for release early next year now. The new single, "Rain," doesn't even really sound like Creed to me. There's just something about it that seems a bit off. It's still a good song, but doesn't sound exactly like Creed ... or even the new Creed. "On My Sleeve" even treats us to some strings throughout the track ... and I've always thought that strings and Creed was an amazing thing! Now, this whole record is a brand new sound and a brand new direction for Creed and I think that's pretty daring. It sounds nothing like their old music at all. It's still not quite what Mark, Brian and Flip achieved in Alter Bridge, but it's like the middle ground.
Highlights of the album:
01 - Overcome [Lead Single]
02 - Bread of Shame
03 - A Thousand Faces
04 - Suddenly
05 - Rain [New Single]
06 - Away In Silence
07 - Fear
08 - On My Sleeve
09 - Full Circle
10 - Time
11 - Good Fight
12 - Song You Sing
13 - Silent Teacher [iTunes Pre-Order Only]
Creed -- Full Circle: 10/10. Yet again, Creed impresses with a complete album of GREAT songs! Absolutely no filler! I can't stand when a band just makes some good singles and then the rest of the album is filled with "filler" tracks that have no real time put into them. I am really glad Creed released this album because it's full of great music and it's a fitting way to put Creed to rest. Now, Mark, Brian and Flip can go back to Alter Bridge and continue to make the mindblowing music they have been making together with Myles Kennedy since 2004. Bring on Alter Bridge III!!!!!!
