I've gotta say that I am a huge Chris Daughtry fangirl (Although I never watched American Idol when he was a contestant, I do have a fair collection of his music.) So when I found out that his band (Daughtry) had released a new album, I was very excited.
The album itself has some decent music on it. That being said, there are some songs that just aren't that great. It's half and half. There are 4 songs that stick out in my mind as being single material (Two of which are his new singles).
1. You Don't Belong
2. No Surprise (Lead Single)
4. Life After You (Second Single)
5. What I Meant to Say
As for my personal favourites on the album:
2. No Surprise
4. Life After You
5. What I Meant to Say
7. September
12. Call Your Name
Both 'September' and 'Call Your Name' are ballads, and are very well presented. The lyrics themselves aren't fantastic, but the rock undertone helps it along. 'No Surprise', 'Life After You' and 'What I Meant to Say' are more Daughtry's "style" in the sense that they're very upbeat and rock-oriented.
Overall rating: 6/10 Not their best work, but not horrible either.
