Once again getting rid of talking zords.... really is it that bad? It's something that hasn't been in Power Rangers.

I was really starting to get comfortable with the idea of a PR animated series.

Doing away with the talking Zords in DT didn’t really bother me since they were trying to make it a bit more serious (at least more so than AbaRanger) so doing it again won’t bother me if they are going to try and turn a goofy/ comedy based Sentai into a slightly more serious PR.

If not, then I have no problem with the talking Zords, it would be an interesting concept, as long as they had some GOOD voices for them. Not like for Kamdor or the FearCats in OO. Those voices ruined any badass aspect they were suppose to have, for me they did at least.

Not to mention having them talk might make it more interesting to where you could not just grow to like the Rangers, but also the Zords to where when/if they were to get destroyed you may feel bad. Cause I still remember the one Zord destruction that I thought sucked or actually felt some sort of emotion for was Wild Force. Cause lets face it Zord destructions in a series is as common and basic anymore as a Battlizer, Sixth Rangers, etc. so anymore when it happens I always just end up going; “What else is new.” Where as in Wild Force they were not just Zords, but “living” (for robotic animals that is) Zords that would interact with the Rangers. So when they were “defeated” (defending their very home none the less) you/I actually felt it cause they were more than just lifeless robots that stayed in some unknown location or in an object until the Rangers summoned them.

Sorry for going off topic there and hopefully at least one person gets what I mean by all that. To sum up though, no voices will be ok depending on the type of series they want to make it.

Sometimes, and hell he (Cole) even lost his parents by dead... Not to mention he had one of the most coolest, sleekest and practical looking Battlizer to his disposal

Actually Jay, Taylor WAS a bitch to Cole in the first few episodes of Wildforce since she was leading the team for 4 years and all of a sudden a rookie shows up and takes her place (even gets rid of that ridiculous Power Rangers Rule book)... It wasn't until with that Camera Org that Taylor loosened up and became less bitchy to Cole, it wasn't until I believe the whole Soul Bird searching episodes that Taylor treated Cole as one of the Rangers (and basically a leader while she remained to be second in command)

Jungle Fury was a step up, in my opinion. Still had it's falws, but for the most part it was a solid season. Hopefully the new EP can take a larger step and make PR what once was.

PR doesn't need past rangers to come back. We don't need unnecessary past references clogging up the season, especially at only 32 episodes per season. Tommy was a nice treat in DT, but he was/is overrated, and I hate to say it, but so is DT, simply because it had Tommy.

No, a past ranger returning is one of the last things PR needs.

Theme 1 is by far my favorite. I also think 2 and 3 are great. 4 just sounds lazy and boring.

Okay, I'm sparring the critiques, but I'll say I'm leaning towards the first two demos. Demos 3 and 4 sound very bland to me. I like how they mostly start with 'the good, the bad, and the ugly' rifts in the beginning though.

In regards to the RPM themes, someone on RB made an excellent point that I agree 100% with.


The problem with the theme demos is that they're all trying too hard to sound like "finger-on-the-pulse of modern youth" kind of music, rather than just generally good music that fits the franchise and the story.

This also applies to that poorly lyrical Jungle Fury theme.

I like the first one the best. I love the ska feel, and it reminds me of Reliant K like the JF theme does. I still hear "Getting laid, need to get some rest." Can they say that in PR? o_o

Number 2 is far too slow for a PR theme. I like the feel of the song and the lyrics, but it just doesn't seem like it would fit for PR.

Number 3 is dead annoying. The voices hurt my head, and the lyrics suck. Waaaaay overuse of "go".

Number 4....just sucks. The lyrics are lame, and again, too much "go".

I totally don't understand the wild west sounding begining riff....That has nothing to do with this show at all....

The Yellow Ranger girl is cute but....Why in the world would Disney use an actress who poses naked for pictures? That is so unlike them...Confusing!

And I agree with Carly lol. We need some real girls in the show who aren't so anorexic skinny! :abakill

I have to say I like the first dmeo theme best of all, but the producers/whoever picks the theme may go with the second demo theme because of its abundant different melodic phrases. THe first theme is very predictable, but the second one is more likely to get stuck in your head (i.e. Is anybody out there? Yes we are!, etc.)

I hope it is a bit more mature, PROO was te closest we've gotten lately. I'm looking forward to taking a break from all the comedy based PR for a more series one like Lost Galaxy or Time Force.

As for them making a serious series out of footage of a comedy based series I have no worries about that as they managed to do a good job with Dino Thunder.

Daniel Ewing has already successfully scored a major role in the new Disney Power Rangers series being shot in New Zealand.

Having already scored a dream role Daniel Ewing will be leaving for New Zealand to play one of the main roles in the American Disney TV series Power Rangers. He says about the course:

I had done a fair amount of TV work and I wanted to combine my experience with the training to get myself to the next professional level. I had a friend I worked with on Home and Away that did the course, he said it was a great program and really helped gave him those extra tools he needed.

I did work on Home and Away last year playing "Reuben" for 2 months but my new role is in American Disney television series Power Rangers to be shot in N.Z. I’m playing bad boy “Dillon" I suppose he is like Wolverine in X-men combined with Riddick from Pitch Black. I got the role through my agent and weeks of auditioning (I think it was 4 call backs all up).

I hope they use as less footage as possible cause otherwise we'll have a turbo on our hands again. you can't really make a super serious story with goofy talking mecha with googly eyes among other things. But I haven't seen Go-on but I've heard it's goofy as shit.

I still can't believe Disney is trying to pull Go-on Green off as "Shark Ranger", when the helmet design is so clearly based off of an orca.

Smart move on your part, Disney...

I don't know if this has been discussed or not because I'm way to lazy to look, but I was over at rangercast and they (PA, Fury diamond, and Linear ranger) are kind of giving some useful info.

Here's some of the posts.....

The set had been made into something resembling a lunar landscape, complete with artifical rocks and burnt out cars'. The storyline is that the Venjex computers have taken over the world and we are the last surviving humans' on earth. We have to escape to one of the Bio-spheres (a self-contained city) to shield us from the marauding Venjex robots.

The only thing that I can state (for now) is that there was a change in the EP mid season, which is similar to what PA confirmed awhile back ago. This change will make the first and second half dramatically different in regards to the quality of the story. The original EP was in charge of the amazing dark and complex plot for older audiences.

From what I heard, they didn't like the dark plot. The change did upset a great deal of people.

Yikes! From what I heard it seemed that the other crew members took issue with the new EP. I never did find out why. I know that a couple even [left] because of it. I don't know if those people will be coming back or not, but I guess there were too many issues.

I'm not sure what to say about the plot, but that doesn't particularly bode well with me. I'm not sure if a "dark" plot would be good for a show like Power Rangers. Especially considering my favorite seasons are pretty lighthearted, but I did feel that the show needed something fresh after the last few years. I can only hope that this will work out for the best, but sometimes it's hard to be optimistic when dealing with uncertainty.

Not everyone loved the dark plot for the older audience. The people that didn't like it obviously had more "corporate power" than the ones that loved it, which is the reason why the recent change was upsetting to those few.

First off, YES Power Rangers RPM will air on Disney XD. How can I be so certain? Simple, Kyl416 is a trusted and reliable source for Power Rangers information. He stated that RPM was on the list of Disney XD shows, and there is no reason he would lie. Trust me, there are people in the Power Rangers fandom who do know & receive information from very reliable sources. Kyl416 is one of them, along with Burgundy Ranger. There is absolutely no proof that RPM will not air on Disney XD.
If true, I find the change of EP, plot(?) etc. very disturbing. PR needs more consistancy, changing the EP and plot is not the way to gain that.

As for Chris, or any other past ranger returning. It's not happening. A lot of people seem to forget that a PR season doesn't need a past ranger returning, it has enough problems with the current characters. Hell, Dino Thunder had a past ranger and is far too overrated . There are loads of people out there who love it simply because it had Tommy. Don't get me wrong, I like Dino Thunder, but it is too overrated, Tommy is not that great.

Imagine if Chris, Johnny or whoever else returned as their character, how would if effect the current characters? Take Casey for example, in a season where it was all fresh characters, he didn't grow and change at all, he was a whiny kid at the beginning and a whiny kid at the end, who randomly because a teacher between episodes. Rose also fell to similar treatment, Will, Dax, Ronny, Nick, Vida, Madison, Xander, Chip, Z, Syd (again, don't get me wrong, I love Z and Syd, and I liked Xander and Will).

That not only depends on what old rangers you're talking about, it's also a matter of opinion. For example, I personally believe that the Jungle Fury team (minus Casey) would pwn the Galaxy Rangers, and I know that I'm one of the very few (if not only) who thinks that.

This is almost as bad as the "he looks like a *color* ranger!" statements on RB.

Simple fact is, you can't base anything on looks. He can't look like he's a Power Rangers actor. He can't look like he's the Blue Ranger, and you're right, it's very shallow to base on looks. For all you know, this guy may turn out to be the best actor PR's ever had. The EP who was on when the cast got hired decided that he was going to make RPM a more 'grown up' series.

Personally, it is really the heart, soul, their ability to handle the power as well as the will to want to protect and defend. In my opinion, looks are just for show. Oh sure, looks keeps the horny 12 year old boys intrigued. But for this, and almost every other fandom, what keeps fans interested are:

1 - The writing
2 - the pace
3 - The acting.

Looks mean nothing. Nothing.

Trust me, I visit RB daily. I have my run ins with those horny "12 year olds", but what I see most of the time is not complaints about looks but about the writing, the pace and the acting. Those who complain about looks get eaten alive.

It's nothing to do with the budget. SPD came in under-budget because the lack of an actor for Omega, so there was no reason to cut MF except for the face-slapping obvious. Disney are trying to end PR. Hell, the only reason we got NS onwards is because Doug and Ann pushed for it, same as we (those of us who sent in letters when it was announced that PR would be animated) pushed for it last year to get RPM.

The best thing that can be done right now is to send in letters. Make said letters look and sound respectable, proper spelling and punctuation, lose the swearing, threats and insults and simply hope for the best.

Power Rangers still sells toys very well. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't PR still the number 1 boys toys in the US? Cause it's sure as hell is everywhere else that they sell in. As long as the toys continue to sell well, PR is profitable. However, Disney isn't known for their brains, and may cut the cord.

Hell, contact Adness is you're desperate. Ask them to at least try to get PR form Disney's grips and explain what I just did to you, the toys sell well. It might change everything and they buy PR, or the more likely result is it might not do any good at all, but at least you'd be trying something.

Unfortunately, they don't like what said ideas turned out as and hired someone new. Hopefully, this second RPM EP gives us something enjoyable as well and not a Kalish knock off.

So I got my RPM Sticker Book from Bandai today. It has a nice cover. It also came with a letter from Bandai that encourages me to collect all the stickers. At the bottom though are some "Power Ranger Fun Facts". I'm not sure if anyone posted this yet, but it contains some new, small details, about RPM (taken right from the letter).

--There are 4 Megazords in the RPM Product line: Hight Octane Megazord, ValveMax Megazord, Mach Megazord, and PaleoMax Megazord. Collect 2 or more to combine and create either the Zenith Megazord, SkyRev Megazord, or the RPM Ultrazord.

Now, the first one mentions 'RPM Product Line'. This means that not all of those Megazords they listed will appear in the show, but I'd say most, if not all, will. Here's pictures for proof. Sorry the text is a little blurry, but hopefully you can still make it out using the text I provided above.

This information came from my sources in regards to Eddie Guzelian (original RPM EP)'s termination.

Eddie cared deeply for the show, the cast members, and the audience. He acknowledged the fact that PR has an older audience and he wanted to target to that. He was hired by Disney to change the show and deal with the challenges with those that wanted to keep the show the same. One of the crew members was upset with the changes and convinced Disney to fire Eddie.

Disney has definitely shown a very unprofessional process when it came to the new EP. They basically showed great support for his vision of the show and let him go after he wrote a decent amount of episodes.

Disney never asked Eddie how the season, story arcs, or character developments were going to end. He would've given that information for free to ensure the show's success. Eddie's final episode will be 1718.

It seems petty that an EP would be fired because of a crew member couldn't agree with the changes.

I miss Fox Kids. It had some good shows. now, it has nothing and Disney is the home of PR now. I mean, i can only watch PR on ABC Family. Gah, it is so slow on getting new episodes. I hope it does a better job with RPM then it did with JF.

I loved Saban and Fox Kids as well. I loved the way they treat Power Rangers well. The true Power Rangers goes to PRiS-PRWF. Don't get me wrong, I loved MMPR-PRT.

Seriously, Wild Force could have be the last season of Power Rangers and Saban's Era.

Actually Saban didn't go bankrupt. What happened is that by 2000/2001, Saban Entertainment had merged with The Family Channel, which News Corp bought from Pat Robertson in 1996/1997, and became a company known as Fox Family Worldwide (FFW), with the main division being the Fox Family Channel. Haim Saban actually owned 49.5% of this company and had an option to sell his share to Murdoch who owned another 49.5%.

So in December 2000 Saban took the option, which kinda came at a bad time for Murdoch, since he was planning on buying DirecTV at that point. Either way Saban and Murdoch shopped the FFW holdings around, and neither Viacom nor Time Warner wanted it, since at that time the Fox Family Channel was loosing money. Disney on the other hand did, since they were trying to get a more of a presence on cable. So in October '01 Disney finalized the buyout and got the Fox Family Channel and Saban's catalog as part of a package deal.

I've even tried plugging "Saban Entertainment bankruptcy" into Google, and didn't see anything. The only reason I can figure for Saban wanting to sell his stake in FFW, is that in 2000 media stocks were down, on top of money losses from Fox Family Channel, which could've been worth less than it was in a couple years, if Saban didn't decide to sell when he did. And Fox Kids as a whole also wasn't doing too well either, with it no longer being the number place for kids' programming during the week and on Saturdays, and Fox affiliates also wanted to get rid of the afternoon block. Anyway sorry for going OT there for a minute.
