A review concerning the DX Daburu Driver

And Jayse... If you are getting the belt... BUY ME 1 TOOOOO!!111oneoneonelol

No seriously the belt looks pretty damn impressived... Especially with them USB drive sticks/Gaia Memory sticks having light and sound... Not to mention each one having it's own little music clip (I really like the rather heavy metal-ish sound that is programmed in the Heat Memory)

Not to mention... Tomorrow is the day that Daburu officially starts... Who is ready for the third twin-fusion Toku hero..? (the other 2 being Barom 1/Baron 1 and Ultraman Ace) ...Cause I know I am ready...

Eh, the Double Driver is a very easy pass. I tend to get bored with henshin devices easily anyways, would be a waste of money. I’m much more interested in the WFC figures.

I haven’t seen much more than opening and henshin & fight clips, but I’ll give some shallow comments anyways.

-I like the opening video, the pop art sticks out a bit, but it works. I love the beginning with Double’s scarf/cape blowing in the wind.

-Love Double Driver’s voice, especially how it says Joker.

-I liked how the henshin worked. I was expecting the sequence to be on the silly side. I’m glad it wasn’t.

-Of course Toei made up for that with LunaJoker. I guess I’ll just have to get used to the stretching limbs.

-Meh, wasn’t at all impressed with Rider Kick.

Anyways, I’m looking forward to the subs.

Call me crazy, but I prefer it like this. Phillip is obivously more of the brain's of the operations (And judging by how his belt worked in the first place, might BE the rider system himself.), Piggybacking to share a more capable body. Shotaro is still primary in control of his half/body, so it avoids Imagin flashbacks. (Or does it! HA HA, TIZ STRIKES AGAIN!)

Then again, there is the henshin at the beginning, but I dunno how to take that yet.

Okay Kamen Rider W is full of WIN!!!!!

I am really liking this series. I agree with you Tiz I like the why the Henshin works out. Shotaro is f-ing awesome and I love his hard-boiled style ^_^. Phillip is in my opinion funny as hell! I love the why the suit looks and all the different Gaia Memorys. In the first episode did anyone look at the briefcase full of memorys? There where some odd ones >_>

Also the oping song......great ^_^ and the opening in the first episode when Shotaro and Phillip henshin together and Shotaro yells.........AWESOME!!!!

one last thing! This is I believe the first Rider series where we already know the villians top team.

so yeah I got high hopes for W!

I think I'm the only one that is underwhelmed by W so far. It's okay, but it's a little too over the top for me. I don't mind comedy, but there's too much. Plus, the girl is getting on my nerves. Now I do like the Henshin sequence and most of the Gaia Memories. I don't like the kick in Luna with the leg being all floppy.

I don't know if it's going to turn out to be a good show or not, but I do hope it does. I really hope it gets better.

I'm fairly content with Double so far. The henshin sequence is neat, and, unlike most people, i don't mind Akiko (or whatever her name is.) She's way overbearing, and She's one violent cookie, what with her green slipper of doom,) But i think she'll grow into a fun character.

Phloogle's my favorite character in the series so far, though Shoutarou's style has caught my eye. So much that i'm probably gonna cosplay him a time or two if i go to a con...Probably. Wakana's about 2 tch's from being the character i want to string up by her toes, though i like Saeko.

Double's alright so far. Here's hoping it gets better.

Kamen Rider W: Movie Original Rider- "Kamen Rider Skull"

We have our 2009 movie Rider


It's not Narumi Sokichi, but Narumi Shiyou Yoshi. A detective who comes in from out of town to resurrect a "dead" mystery. The article is saying it could be a homage and tribute to Skull Man comic, which was the prototype to Kamen Rider in a way and like W was a detective story.

Played by Kōji Yoshikawa, a singer of Kabuto movie theme and comedian in some sketch shows

Kamen Rider Double has this great integrated media project, where you can kinda sorta listen to the full size W-B-X, expect you have to drive past the DJ guy talking over the later parts of the song we havn't heard. Plus you can get a taste of ED themes, including the ones that not appeared on the show yet.

On another note, I just watched Double 06. I'm liking the sensibility of the show so far, Forms are being used intelligently. They are setting up quite the feud for Nazca and Double. Plus you probably hear this every time the term comes up in the series. But I'm glad for the use of the term "Kamen Rider" and the weight that comes with it, instead of just being some catch-all term for any guy in a suit and bug mask.

W's Next Form, upcoming toy rumors

-W's Next Form, Super Cyclone Joker, will have at its disposable a sword which is capable of splitting into two seperate swords, which re-combine for the finishing move.

-Super Cyclone Joker is formed from the rumored "Super Memory" which will be included with the 4th Memory Gadjet, as of now unamed. The 4th Gadjet can transform from Kabuto Mode (Kabutomushi) to Scoop Mode (Shovel.) Its personal memory is the "Giji Memory."

W utilizes the Super Memory by inserting it in the Maximum Slot on the Double Driver.

-W's Sword, used as Super Cyclone Joker, has two Gaia Memory slots. However, the double edged sword can combine with the 4 Memory Gadjets for a total of 6 slots, where the 6 Gaia Memories (excluding Super) can be inserted. This weapon is known as the "Shin Gadjet."

-It is also suggested that W will have an even higher level form (or forms, as it may be the case that the Super Memory can be used with all 9 of W's forms, in the vein of Rising Kuuga), and it has something to do with the combination of the memories.

Okay... IF this Super Memory rumor thingy is true, we can take away the crown of most forms from Kuuga and give it to W... Not to mention it kind of gives off that Rising vibe...

I'm liking W and after seeing a few eps. I really like the Heshin sequence and his ability to swap out form on the fly,and his bikes ability to change. Im liking the opening music and the whole idea of humans now being the enemies it different.

okay episode 6 was imo awesome!

Every episode Shotaro get cooler and cooler, Philippe gets more and more odd and Akiko just makes me lol everytime she talks XD.

I must say the little fight between W and Nazca was awesome but way to short ;_; but hey it was there "first" fight so it couldn't be to crazy. Luna Trigger form was awesome!!! he can curve lasers!?!?!?!?!?!?! also his little jet ski......it was cool but I mean really? how often are we going to see that in action?

anyways all in all it was a fun episode!

W Rumors- BIG SPOILER ALERT

Here is the newest bunch of W rumors. This comes from a poster on 2ch who has been spot on with everything he's posted lately.

-W's Second Rider will utitlize the "Accel Memory"

-The Second Rider may appear briefly, at the end of the Double Movie

-The Second Rider's identity seems to be that of a Genius Physicist who cooperates with the police named Ukyou Suji. Ukyou has the character for "Right" in his name. There's a big chance he's related to Philip.

-In episode 25 (or there about), Philip will be killed. The Fang Memory is a device that will allow Shotaro to become Double without Philip.

-Kirihiko (Nazca) will betray the Sonozaki family, possibly killing Sonozaki himself. He will form a new empire under his name.

-Also as of 25, a character named Mira will appear. She seems to be the second rider's partner, and has a similar past to Philip. Her existence will be made clear in a memory of the "Begins Night."

No one is always right. We all make mistakes. Hopefully this will be a mistake. If they kill Phillip for no reason like that and make it so he really wasn't needed ... I'd probably stop watching. The show has gotten a little bit better because that girl is less annoying lately, but it still pales in comparison to shows like Decade, Kiva, Faiz, Blade and Agito. Just my opinion.

Well, in a way, the reason W may pale in comparison to those is because it's trying to be a comedy show and a detective show at the same time. For the most part, it has been part hit and miss and part AWESOME. These last two episodes would have been great if not for the painful dancing. Phillip's perpetually short attention span when it comes to people was 'kind of' amusing though. Akiko is getting better as well, though the preview of the next episode is...well...I'm not sure what to think of it.

Killing off Phillip is definitely a big no-no in my honest opinion. I mean...why even call him Kamen Rider Double if one half of the two in one detective is dead?

Thank you! I agree with that 100%. This was what was suppose to make Double unique yet they want to get rid of that part of the show. I do hope the rumor is false.

Well if they kill his body while his mind is in ..well wherever it goes. He could still stay around that way. Sort of a Ghost Detective if you will.

Incidentally about which show is " better" than the other, it's all matter of opinion honestly. People have been bashing shows left and right whenever a new show comes up. It's like they forget that they liked the show previously. Now me personally? I like what I like.

Back on topic however, I actually liked the dancing in the last episodes. It was quite cool. Especially in ep 8 how things just icked off..welll to quote a friend of mine " it's like watching Zack Taylor in mmpr...but on crack"

Next Double Form rumor

Fang Form (Meaning Fang Joker, Fang Metal, and Fang Trigger) is supposed to be Double's "middle form". Fang is rumored to belong to Philip, so as I've said before, if the rumor where he dies is true, he's definately coming back.

The next, and possibly final, Memory is going to be the "Speed Memory", which will be on Philip's side. Along with the possible Cyclone Speed, Heat Speed, and Luna Speed, Double will be able to achieve his "highest form", Fang Speed.

Oooohhh... Okay, if Shotaro gets the Fang Dino Memory after Philips hits the bucket, and this rumor speaks about Philip getting the Speed Memory means only 1 thing... The none-human won't stay dead for too long... Granted if said rumor is true...

Either way, IF Speed Memory is true, then that means that Daburu has officially DEFEATED Kuuga with the most forms... So, let's look at the list

This is confusing. Okay so Philip get's Fang and Speed (assuming that's correct) How can speed be used with Fang if they both belong to Philip?

Either Shotaro get's Fang or Speed (I would think he'd get speed) Since you can't have Fang - Cyclone/Luna/Heat their on the right side. Fang - Joker/Metal/Trigger yeah but Philips I don't see not enless Shotaro can use Philips memories.

Well I can understand why Shotaro gains the Fang Memory... I mean if we ARE to believe that spoiler rumor of Philip going to the big Google in the sky, it makes sense that Shotaro has a specially made Gaia Memory so that he can still change into Daburu (the Fang Memory acts as a replacement for Daburu till Philip returns from the after google life)

And not a problem, good thing I visit Rangerboard and Henshin Justice Unlimited on a daily basis XD

Well, so far Daburu has been pretty entertaining for me despite finding myself agreeing about the whole Heaven's Tornado... It had a nice set-up, but a little bit of a weak finish or something... But yeah, it has been entertaining

I mean it has the right amount of action, good comedic timing (in my honest opinion of course), lovable characters/cast, the whole detective/mystery angle well played (again my own, honest opinion), uses the different forms truly strategically AND it has been using the bike a lot more often in 8/9 episodes then most other current Rider shows (save maybe for Kuuga, Agito, Faiz I think and Blade)...

Not to mention I like the designs of the forms, simple and very old school in a new gen coat... Then there are the designs for the Dopants which are a bit weird, but like Daburu himself also nicely designed, almost as if the people of PLEX had Old School Showa era on the brain

And of course it also has a rather catchy Jazzy J-Rock theme going on...

But yeah, so far I have nothing (really) negative to say about Daburu... If this keeps up, it may kick Agito off of my number 1 spot... Then again the same thing I said concerning Kiva lol

Yeah the Dopants to seem to look more like enemies you'd see from Sentai more then you'd see from Kamen Rider but I think it kinda works. I like the memory thing they have going but that's just me I guess.

If I’m stating the obvious or if I’m way off I don’t care but it seemed pretty clear from the flashback in episode 14 that Phillip is really the little brother that is no longer around.

I’m also surprised with episode 15, having something like that happen with Phillip I wasn’t expecting anything like that to happen till around the mid way point in the twenties arc of the series. Guess I was a little off. Either way I can’t wait til the 3rd and we get to see the Fang memory.

It's becoming closer to offical, but Double just might be my favorite Rider series yet. The writing has been amazing consistant, the balance for mood has right on for a majority of the episodes, and the plot has been moving forward at a decent rate of speed. They still have a bunch of episodes "to fuck things up" and we will see when Accel finally shows up, but right now, I'm impressed.

I don't know about that, but given rumors I've seen, it's possible Shroud is orchestrating for Philip and Terui to work together.

Shroud is possibly Sonozaki's wife, and possibly Philip's mother. According to rumors, Shroud doesn't see Shotaro as a worthy partner for her son, and so is orchestrating against him.

The rumored 3rd rider, is supposed to be sent to replace Shotaro, but then Shotaro proves himself, somehow, and Shroud relinquishes the plan. However, the new rider ends up going to the Museum's side.


Shotaro is a great detective, and the show has never stated anything besides that. Akiko doesn't accept for two reasons:

1). It's a good running joke, especially when helped by Philip's jabs

2). How could he, in her eyes, ever replace her father?

As far as being shown up by Terui...he really hasn't. Terui has the police working for him, so leads they get are his leads. Shotaro actually has to do the legwork. It's the classic private eye VS cop plot. (Think Monk, Adrian's always going to have the insights, but Stottlemeyer's got the man power.)

I just finished it. I decided to wait until he uploaded all to the parts. It was a really great movie. I am glad that I did not know that their were two movies at first, because if I had known, I would have skipped the Decade part and missed out on some really great stuff.

Sokichi was totally badass and cool. I can see how uncool or half-boiled Shotaru is now but he is learning.

In Akiko's case, I really wish that her alternate universe dad would have said something to her too or she could have gotten to hug him or something. She knows now that her father is dead but she doesn't know how it happened. I hope that Shotaru gets to finally tell her what really happened since she is waiting for him to do so.

I really feel for Philip. Wakana is all in his personal space. He knows that she can touch things in the book world now. It's only a matter to time before she kicks the crap out of him or kidnaps him.

Poor, poor gullible Jin. I mean, three times he was tricked with the UFO sighting by the same idiot, younger Shotaro. That was funny as hell.

I have to agree with Jaysen when it comes down to Double. Despite it being 2 Riders in 1 (literally once the Xtreme form is included), they actually made it work AND made it look realistic, especially in the beginning with the 2 arguing... Or at least Shoutarou arguing whenever Philip gets this weird idea in his head or does things on his own despite being changed into their Rider form like with Magma and with Cockroach's first fight...

*sniff* ...Double will be greatly missed once the finals kick in... And dare if I may say this, but IF Daburu keeps delivering as it does with the episodes it will easily, and without a doubt, kick Agito off of my #1 spot

As for episode 44... Heart breaking... That is all I can say about the episode, it was very heart breaking good

Okay so I'm finally caught up with Double and I'm just..damn The way this plot is unfolding and the way that this show is going really makes me wish that it could have another series. I'd seriously Love to see more of this show. I was quite pleased to see that CycloneAccel never got used as a form >_> <_<

I am the middle of watching episode 47 and it is epic. In this one I do officially feel sorry for Seako. She gets kidnapped right before Philip's eyes and he still all: Must save Wakana. Does anybody in the family care that she was ever born? XD XD

I am relieved that it seems like she is changing. She is worried about Wakana, someone she is supposed to hate. Once you have want you always wanted, doesn't mean you'll want it once you get it.

Philip is a character I do not want to lose but it's happening anyway. *cries*

Well I just finished Double and I just wanna say this. DAMN YOU W!!!! My reason? Cause it was so damn good. I gotta tie it with Blade. This and Blade are the only series that made me cry by the end and I can admit that. It was very moving and a beautiful ending. Applause all around!

Just finished A to Z! Amazing movie. Usually I don't expect much from a rider movie but A to Z was really good! The only thing bad about it was the over use of wire-fu. Some of it was so out of place and just there to be there. My case in point would be the fight with Meat/Luna/Metal. Really that was a bit much.

The plot was pretty damn good too and I did like Katsumi as a villain so kudos! Also Zone had a genuine reason! (not that teleporting around was a bad one) But it worked for Eternal I mean really who would stand there and put 26 memories in slots? Oh well I though it was really good! Not only was W's series good so was his movie! Now that bar is set OOO's has some big shoes to fill.
