Okay gamescom is going on and some new has come out.

Price drop sorta kinda leaked in some places so it's $299 now!

New avatars at last! (it my not seem much to non PS3 users but it is if you've seen the selection we have.)

The $299 price tag is also official. The Slim also hits stores next month.

Playstation 2 games will now not work it seems...great to see they are doing something right.

They haven't been playable on a PS3 since the 40GB days. Only the 20GB and 60GB could.

Maybe someday they will but as long you own a PS2 I don't see the need for it.

...is it wrong for me to think that I like that design of the PS3 a bit better then the current design..?

Cause I am kind of liking that design a bit more

The only thing I don't like is the power and eject buttons. I prefer the Phat versions. But I do like the look as well.

I dunno, I kind of like having those buttons, especially since I had a lot of trouble with them slide buttons in the beginning

Well, I might end up getting PS3 then.

The Price was a big point for me, I can't justify paying more than 300 for a system personally.

we so should've seen that one coming...i mean, they did the same thing with the PS2... besides, now everyone is gonna trade in their bulky PS3 just to get the slimmer one....we all knew Sony was gonna do something like that...it was just a matter of time....

Well yeah, it's costs them less to produce this model, which will probably allow them to sell it for the lower price.

I'll be sticking to my phat one till it dies since if it aint broke don't fix it. Plus the price drop is on all PS3 models so the phats are cheap too.

Well the 3.0 update is life. We get a new boot screen! >_> it's the little things that make me happy so sue me!

Anywho I can connect to PSN and the official blog and board are down.
