Color vs Colour

Okay so I was randomly think about this so I figured i'd bring it up.

Why do people spell color, COLOUR? There is no U!!! So the question/poll is do you spell it color or colour?

^color can spelled as COLOUR by people from the UK. People from the UK spell certain words differently than what we do here in the US/Canada. I think some other countries do that too along with the UK.

It's us dumb Americans who changed the spelling of words like "colour" and "favourite" lol. The British people invented the language, and then we changed it! But personally I prefer to drop the "u" because it looks better to me. Too each his own! :)

Americans like simplicity in their language, and that's one of the reasons why the "U" was dropped. It's a regional choice, since there is no difference in meaning between colour and color.

The u just seems pointless to me but to each their own right? Still so far it's 100% for no u. xD

Well said. Although that doesn't mean us British agree with the spelling of the words. It makes more sense without the U yet it is supposed to be there lol
