11th Heisei Kamen Rider Series: Kamen Rider W News/Rumors

[Kamen Rider Joker]

...post news here from now on, just to keep the rumors separated. Basically, magazine adverts are saying the 11th Heisei Rider will be revealed in the fall, around August or so according to dates given in magazines. A copyright has been put out by TOEI for the name Kamen Rider W. W is said "daburu" in Japanese, so essentially, for English speakers, the series will be Kamen Rider Double.

W will have "9" forms

So according to new info, each side of W will be able to undergo form changes. This allows for the different colored sides to be swapped out with each other, and for W to mix and match the attributes that are best suited for the battle he's in. If I had to guess, the right side of the body controls the attack/power, while the left side control what weapon he uses:


On the right side of the body:

Cyclone (Green)

Heat (Red)

Luna (Yellow)


On the left side of the body:

Joker (Black)

Metal (Silver)

Trigger (Blue)




As stated before, W's base form will be Cyclone Joker (Green/Black). The other form changes will be named accordingingly, right side name, then left.

9 forms eh... 3 buttons on the right and 3 on the left... 3 x 3 = 9... Talk about a weird way to use multiple forms... But hey, IF this rumor is the truth and they can make it work and do it good, then I am not complaining

W's arsenal, more on form changes, story rumors

-W's belt is complex in design, resembling Kamen Rider G's bottle-opener belt a little. The belt has a slot in which the different Memories (USB Keys) are inserted to change forms. Each memory is marked by a letter designating that specific form (C, J, L, T, H, M).

-W's main weapons will be two double swords, one called the Justice Sword, and the other, the Freedom sword. They each belong to Shotaro and Phillip, respectively.

-W Cyclone Joker (Green/Black) will use the double swords as weapons

-W Heat Metal (Red/Silver) will use a Spear Weapon

-W Luna Trigger (Yellow/Blue) will use a Gun




Story Rumors:

-The "2 Riders" (Shotaro and Phillip) seem to be candidates for being the "fiance" of the "Majin Family", who are W's enemies

-Phillip is a genius, who solves something important about the ongoing events

-This solution involves the "3 Keywords", and probably has to do with W's powers

-Shotaro and Phillip are both detectives, who live in the Wind Capital of Virtual City.

Regarding other info, Phillip does seem to be a foreigner, and W will not be a short series- even though it premiers on 9/6, it will have a run of 50 episodes.

The suit itself... Guess that Dukemon22 wasn't kidding that Kamen Rider W would look a bit like Kikaida

Helmet looks old schoolish like Shadowmoon and the shoulders give me a Kuuga meet Kiva kind of fibe

Armoring itself... Completely armored like Shadowmoon and Black are, looks like W is the Black of the Heisei era...

Color wise... Reddish with gold, black with purple and the old traditional red eyes... However you can hardly see the red eye on the red side of the suit... And a zipper or something..? Looks like W consists out of 2 people...

All in all... I can't say that I like the suit based on just this 1 image, but I can not say that it looks ugly either... I'll wait till we get to see some more images that show him in his full glory (belt included) to make up my mind...

-Shotaro and Phillip will be detectives. The series will begin with a number of episodes in which they investigate different crimes. These crimes lead them to the discovery of their enemy (sort of Kuuga/Agito-esque)

-They do work/live in the "Wind Capital" (the name of the city is not a sure thing yet, but it will be a fabricated city, perhaps set in a near-future type setting.)


-Their Police Captain will be played by Terada Nou, whose been in a lot of stuff, including a couple of Ultraman series as guest roles

I think depending on the situation there may be form mixing..like if say each form is for a different tye of villian. If there are more than one type of villian he may have say gold and black or red and blue or something.

The rumors says that Daburu has 9 different forms, and since each side has 3 different colors (Green, Yellow, Red for right side and Black, Blue, Silver for left), I do believe that Daburu is capable of switching 1 side of a form around (as shown with that Heat Joker form (red and black) a page or 2 back)

I find myself wondering about the dynamics of the fusion. Like, are there times where one person is more in control, or if they have a disagreement then do things go crazy with their body? Do they have any kind of connection when they're in seperate bodies?

First off, I'm kinda torn on monster designs. They seem rather Sentaish. . .


But then again, Kaijin designs have been rather repetitive and uninspired since Hibiki's first half finished. The drop of constant animal themes to more abstract villain themes like magma is something that hasn't been touched since one of the Showa era shows. So yeah, I'm torn.

Speaking of Torn, the Form changing after the henshin to W look PAINFUL.

-The Dopant Salesman seen in the trailers, will be our second rider. It is possible he will use sword weapons.

-A new form-side of W will be "Fang". The Fang Memory will belong to Phillip, and will boost his sides' kicking ability, where a blade attaches to his ankle.
